| It's really about Wall Street Buying Up Main Street and Ignoring side streets and alleys Their 401k's are falling. Too fucking bad you fucking losers. Mine disappeared years ago no one bailed me out. This bailout is all about the rich, yet again, and again, and again, at the expense of those on the side who are continually ignored. For the last 50 years, more and more, Main Street USA has gotten snatched up by big conglomerates, investment portfolios, big banks, all channeling what used to be kept in smaller communities, to those who live off dividend charity. These banks have so lost touch, in their greed, that we now have a disaster looming. This includes all of the mega rich fat cats. They think they can keep sucking the life out of local economies and providing credit for everything. Life doesn't work that way, economies can't just keep borrowing and paying interest. The voodoo bailout chant that "It's about Main Street" is horseshit. It's about the rich taking over every small bank they can get their hands on, and bleeding them dry. I hope this bailout package fails, lest we keep feeding the credit monster 'till it completely explodes. Right now, it's getting weak and dying before our eyes. The House is considering today, a second vote, on whether to keep feeding it everything we have harvested this growing season. Believe me, if the credit monster dies, we will be in shock for a while, not knowing how to live without it, but we will definitely be better off. It's like when you end a bad relationship, and years later you realize you are now much happier without that monkey on your back. |
